Aydin Mehdiyev's photo exhibition
On 3-5 September 2025 as part of the Azerbaijan Culture Week organized by the “SEN1SEN” center, solo photo exhibition of Azerbaijani photographer Aydin Mehdiyev (PhD) entitled “Colors of Life” took place at the “Palazzo Mandrilli” gallery in Cassini (Italy).
AZERTAC reports that the exhibition includes more than 50 photographs and embodies the natural beauty of Azerbaijan in all its diversity. In the presented frames, Aydin Mehdiyev focuses on emotional impressions. He tries to convey the shades of the colors of the spectrum so that they reflect whole landscapes. His compositions create the impression of a living organism. In some frames, there is no division into figures and the background intended for them; there is no feeling of emptiness and incompleteness. The photo frame turns into a decorative panel with the highest color sharpness based on the laws of contrast of primary and secondary colors.
Aydin Mehdiyev is a Doctor of Technical Sciences, a colonel in the customs service, a professor at the Department of Mechanics at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, and a famous photographer who was awarded the title of “Titan” by the International Association of Art Photographers (IAAP) in April 2025.
In an interview with an AZERTAC correspondent, Aydin Mehdiyev spoke about how the exhibition was received by the Italian public: “Visitors viewed the works with great interest. Among the guests were not only Italians, but also representatives of other nationalities living in Italy. Local Turks who learned about this event also visited the photo exhibition. The mayor of the city of Cassini also attended the opening. There were also UNESCO representatives. They are interested in future cooperation with the Azerbaijani side on some projects. With this exhibition, I tried to show that Azerbaijan does not lag behind European countries in any field, especially in the cultural sector. We are also open to cooperation, but on equal terms. This would be beneficial for everyone.”
